News: NAB a winner

New digital cinema camera among Canon successes at NAB 2012

To show our commitment to the broadcast as well as the film production industry, Canon pulled out all the stops at NAB to showcase the multitude of applications Canon equipment can offer the broadcast television, professional video, and motion picture industries. We unveiled the new EOS-1D C Digital SLR camera and the development of its ground breaking line of 4K imaging solutions, including four new EF Cinema zoom lenses, two Cinema EOS cameras, and advanced display technology to deliver 4K resolution at the pinnacle of imaging performance.

Along with live-learning experiences and short film screenings, we also displayed a wide range of innovative products and equipment including the new Cinema EOS C500/C500 PL. Offering 4K RAW output, this new digital cinema camera has been introduced with both the motion picture and high resolution digital production industries in mind. The camera will be available with Canon’s EF mount and the industry standard PL mount. Supporting next generation 4K-resolution video capture and RAW data output, the EOS C500 will achieve exceptional video results without any loss in quality.

Immediate demand

So impressed with the demonstration of the Cinema EOS C500 at NAB, Kamelot ordered two of the cameras at the exhibition. Lenses too were in demand with various orders being taken for Compact zoom lenses (cN-E15.5-47mm T2.8 L S/SP, CN-E30-105mm T2.8 L S/SP)
